10 helpful questions for women who aren'tI get it…

You’re busy! There are a million other things on your to-do list:

  • kids
  • work
  • your partner
  • volunteer position
  • house…

They all need something from you, and you’re often last on the list.

You’re default for taking care of yourself is…

  • zoning in front of the TV or computer
  • eating more chocolate, sugar or junky food (than you know you should)
  • having another glass of wine

Yes, and sometimes a mani-pedi…but nothing really gives you that ease and feeling of peace with your body that you really need, to feel your best.

Today I have a quiz for you that will help you reassess your priorities, and take a step towards YOU…prioritizing YOURSELF!

Often, I give you tips and strategies for self-care, but today i want you to invite you to access your own wisdom and inner resources. Also, I want you to have these questions on hand for the future. These are not one-time/fixes-all questions, they are questions to keep coming back to, over and over again.

Take a moment with each question. Breath and answer the question from a real and deep place within you…

  1. How do you feel when you’re not taking care of yourself?
  2. What in your life suffers when you’re not taking care of yourself? (relationships, work, how you feel about yourself, etc.).
  3. When was a time that you really felt taken care of (either you took care of yourself or someone else was nurturing you)?
  4. What did that nourishing time feel like on a body level? What were the sensations and feelings during that time of deep self-care?
  5. What benefits came from you taking care of yourself (are you nicer, more patient, make better food choices, etc.?
  6. What are 3 other things that nourish and nurture you, where you get that “I feel deeply nourished?”
  7. Is there one of those things that you could incorporate into your daily or weekly life? (If there isn’t, please go back to question 5 and keep brainstorming on activities that nourish you.)
  8. What does (or could) get in the way of you doing your nourishing activity?
  9. How can you keep your nourishing activity sacred, and not have it be usurped by anything else?
  10. Are you worth this kind of compassionate and nourishing self-care? (The answer to this one is YES!!! Of course you are!)

Now, enter your nourishing activity into your calendar right now. Know that there will be obstacles that will try to get in the way of your putting yourself first, and work with the ideas you came up with (above in question 9).

Also, please know that as you take time to nourish yourself deeply – everything else in your life will benefit as well!

Let me know how it goes!
