Are you deficient in Vitamin M... Here-4 So many women I talk to are deficient in Vitamin M.

Here are the symptoms:

  • Eating on the run
  • Feeling hurried and harried
  • Exhausted and depleted
  • Not feeling good about their body
  • Not taking time for self-care
  • Not stopping to nurture or nourish themselves

Basically…not mothering themselves!

Vitamin M (as you might have guessed already) is MOTHERING…but specifically mothering oneself.

As women we are experts at mothering and nurturing others (whether we have children are not!), we tend to NOT be experts in mothering our self.

Today I want to encourage you, invite you and implore you, to turn that nurturing towards yourself.

How we mother ourselves is very connected to how we were mothered.

I’ve worked with women who have had the most wonderful mothering, but never learned how to turn those skills towards themselves. They were taught that giving selflessly was the highest form of love.

I’ve also worked with women who have had terrible mothering. No nurturing at all. There was no model for what self-care looked like.

Both of these kind of women have a really hard time taking care of themselves. They are deficient in Vitamin M. They don’t know how to self-mother in a way that leaves them feeling healthy, strong and fully empowered in their life and body.

If you are deficient in Vitamin M, here are 4 steps to get you back to healthy levels.

1. Acknowledge the deficiency.

When we face the stark reality that we aren’t getting the nourishment that we need and that it needs to come from within, we have put ourselves onto the path of making ourselves a priority.

2. Get a great self-mothering role model or community.

Who in your life takes care of themselves with grace? Hang out with them!

The groups of women that I lead always move me deeply, because as each woman steps into self-mothering and self-care, the whole community is powerful and positively impacted.

Get a coach! There’s nothing like professional support to make turning towards yourself, and being a great mother to yourself, a reality.

3. Make a list of your unique Vitamin-M-rich activities

What makes you feel mothered – in a really good way? What makes you feel relaxed, comforted and supported. Get specific.

4. Make time for Vitamin M in your life!

Even 10 minutes a day of self-mothering activities will deeply impact your happiness and wellness. Write it in your calendar.

We all need Vitamin M! Be sure to get your dose today!
