• Have the Holidays taken you down the path of sugary sweets?
  • Is your sweet tooth in full swing?
  • Don’t want to give up your sweets, but know you need to ease up on the amount of sugar you’re consuming?

Try this recipe, it’s super sweet but doesn’t contain any refined sugar. It’s also packed with protein, due to the nuts. And it’s so easy  to prepare, it literally takes 3 minutes to make. It’s perfect for an everyday sweet treat or dress it up for a fancy occasion by adding a bit of cacao to the unsweetened coconut topping.

Healthy Raw Truffles:

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup raw walnuts or pecans
  • 1 cup rasins
  • 1/2 cup un-sweetened shredded coconut.

Directions:
  • In a food processor blend walnuts and raisins together until they form a paste.
  • Roll nut and raisin paste into small truffle size balls.
  • Roll them in shredded coconut (raw cacao mixed into the  shredded coconut is lovely too!)
  • For Variety: Use pecans instead of walnuts and dried cherries instead of raisins.
