I got an email today that made me feel so good, in fact it made my ego swell.
A boyfriend of mine, from my college days, found me on facebook and this is what he said:
“But look at you! Goodness! You must certainly practice what you preach. I have a good (selective) memory, and I can safely say you look even better now than you did all those years ago. Bravissima! :)”
He always did know how to make a girl feel good!
But it got me thinking, what did I look like in my college days? My body image was always so skewed that I thought I’d have a look. That led me to hunting through my old pictures. I found this one. It’s not from all the way back in college, but it’s at least from the early 1990’s.
Now, you may wonder, why I would post this picture? (Because, man, it feels vulnerable!)
Well, two reasons:
1) In my wellness and raw food classes I talk about how I didn’t always eat well and how I was heavier before I started listening to my body and eating food that makes me feel vibrant. I can tell by the way my class participants look at me that they just can’t imagine it. So here it is.
2)Also, I want to inspire you to feel great about yourself. And I can honestly say, that walking the walk of healthy living will get you there!
Yes, it is clear that I have lost weight, but the real difference for me is that now I am comfortable in my body, I feel clear, balanced and not in a struggle with food or weight. I know how to deeply nourish myself. I feel great!
