My mom always told me to seize the celebratory moments in life.

Every time she would fly across the country for another family event, she would remind me that there are enough mournful moments in life, and that we should go the extra mile to be with family and friends for the happy moments in life.

So that’s what I did this weekend. I got on a plane headed for Chicago, to celebrate the 50th birthday of my dear friend Michel.

I hope that if you are celebrating Easter or Passover, you are also seizing life’s celebratory moments.

When I arrived in Chicago, Michel greeted me with her newly pinked hair! She had taken a wild and fabulous step and dyed her hair a bold magenta pink. I love it because it looks amazing, but even more importantly, I love it because she went for what made her feel totally expressed.

Michel’s pink hair in an expression of her creativity and flair in life. Now we may not all want magenta hair, but an unabashed expression of self – in whatever unique way we choose to do that – helps us feel connected to our soul, and that always makes us feel smokin’ hot from the inside out.

SO – my message to you today – is step into the celebration and creativity of your life…don’t be shy about it. Let it sparkle!

While I was with Michel, she made me kale chips. I loved the easy – no-mess-shake-it-in-a-bag way she did it – so much, that I asked her to make them for YOU in a video I snapped right there, on the spot.

Check out this 1 minute video of Michel making Kale chips.

They were so delicious! And of course, so nutritious!
