not being kind to other living creatures

 

being bad is NOT

 

eating ice cream

having dessert

eating the bread in the bread basket

 

it’s not even eating the leftovers off of your kids’ plate.

Our need for an escape

Our moments of childhood eating

Our moments of checking out of our body and not noticing what we’re putting in it are not BAD.

 

They are moments of humanity

Moments when our needs are showing up

They are our desires and deep hungers

 

They are sometimes the only way we can cope with the moment.

 

Your unwelcome and sometimes unwanted eating is a direct line to listening to your humanity,

 

to your longings

 

to your soul desires.

 

You’re not “bad”

You’re real

You’re human
