The Go Go push of our everyday life can be wearing and exhausting – and ultimately debilitating – it’s so important to STOP and reset!
Sometimes, just like a computer, we need to STOP and reset – our soul!
Here are 7 simple ways to make it happen…
1. CLOSE YOUR EYES
Truly, just the simple act of closing your eyes has the power to distance you from all the external stimulation and tune you back to yourself.
2. SLEEP
Closing ones eyes could possibly lead to the most powerful healer of all – SLEEP! Going to sleep earlier, sleeping in a bit later, taking a cat nap or a leisurely siesta – really do whatever it takes to get more sleep!
3. TULSI TEA
This is my nightly reset. I make myself a cup of Tulsi Tea and R-E-L-A-X! Tulsi is the herb Holy Basil. It’s an adaptogen, which means it helps the body cope with stress. And even though it says “energizing” on the tea box, it’s really just very soothing.
4. BREATHING
Try it right now! Breath in. Breath out. Breath in. Breath out. Breath in. Breath out. It’s simple as that! Connecting to your breath is a direct connection to your spirit.
5. GET SENSUAL
Connecting with your senses in a pleasurable way shifts your body into the relaxation response. Taking a warm bath with essential oil – Lavender, for example – or getting a massage or cuddling with someone you love. Connecting to what feels good turns your awareness inward, and slows you down, so you can begin to listen to that wise soul of yours has to say!
6. MUSIC
Music is part of connecting to your senses, but I’ve given it it’s own spot on this list because it is that powerful! Music can shift our mood in a minute. It can invite us to be contemplative, expressive, wild, happy, sad and more. Find music that brings you home to yourself and give yourself the time and space to be impacted by it!
7. SHAKE IT UP BABY
And sometimes be sure to choose music that makes you dance and move in exactly the way YOUR body loves to move. Allow your wonderful body to feel alive, stretched, open and expressive. Let your movement express your soul fully!
I hope you’ll choose one or two (or all) of these soul resetting strategies to play with today!
