Yesterday, I led the Escape ~ Nourish ~ Renew woman’s retreat in the Boston area, with my wonderful colleague Lisa Lewtan. Our intention of the day was to help women step away from their crazy-busy lives, take time to deeply nourish themselves, get a slew of powerful strategies so that they could re-enter their lives feeling renewed and reconnected to what was truly a priority in their life!
Well, that’s exactly what happened!
It was truly magnificent to watch the women who came, soften and relax as the day progressed. It was as if the mask of “managing life” melted away and what was left was each woman’s true radiance.
All that in a day?!
I know, it seems a bit surprising, but really… sometimes all we need to be able to reconnect to ourselves, is a safe, sacred space, within which we can relax, slow down and hear our inner voice.
And the day was just that, we did luscious, grounding yoga, we danced, we deeply reflected on how we were “living the list” versus “living the life!” We created, and even implemented powerful strategies to have a deeply nourished life! And, of course, we ate amazing, delicious healthy food!
I adore helping women women step into truly nourishing themselves. When we feel deeply sourced and supported, our lives take on a hue of joy and ease (versus a hue of “harried and overwhelmed”).
But there’s a secret sauce that allows women to access that feeling of inner connection and deep nourishment – and that is other women!
Women, when we come together with the intention of being supportive and real, are SO powerful. I could wax poetic about the magic that happens when you get a group of women together, but instead, I’ll let one of our retreat participants – Toni Lansbury who writes incredibly beautifully – tell you instead, in her blog post: Women Are All Sorts of Awesome.
Today, I want to encourage you to make space and time to be with supportive women, it will change how you feel about yourself, it will increase your oxytocin levels (pleasure hormone), and will make you happier!
