Oh my, I did it again! I brought my Vita-mix with me when I went to Miami for my Institute for Integrative Nutrition Conference.
I did it last year too…
I know it seems a little crazy to bring a big blender on a trip, but I really wanted to make sure I had my green smoothies!
If I have my Vita-Mix, I get a blender full of greens everyday. If I have my blender of greens, I have a ton of energy! If I’m full of energy, I get to stay up late to enjoy the Miami South Beach night-life and still wake up for a swim, beach-walk and be focused for the conference!
You know I love my Vita-mix, but really it’s heavy!
This year I thought maybe I should just leave it at home. But I couldn’t do it, I couldn’t face the thought of a morning without my power drink. So, I decided I would compromise and… gasp!…bring a smaller blender.
I must sheepishly confess, I went and bought a Magic Bullet Blender. I felt like I was cheating on my Vita-mix. I brought it home and put it in the back hallway and pretended I hadn’t strayed from my true love.
Then it was time to pack for my conference. I pulled out a little suitcase and started to pack my new Magic Bullet. Hang on, I thought, maybe I should just give it a little spin before I take my new friend away for the weekend. I started loading the Magic Bullet with my favorite green smoothie ingredients and quickly found that only about a quarter of them would fit. I would only be able to make a small smoothie. Then I blended and drank, well, I actually chewed. My smoothie wasn’t smooth. It didn’t have that light milkshakey consistency I love in a smoothie. Not enough of an un-smooth smoothie was not going to do it for me.
Needless to say, as my pictures show, I pulled out a bigger suitcase. My Vita-mix came on the trip and the Magic Bullet was returned. My faithful 15 year Vita-Mix relationship was intact.
I’m still in love with my Vita-mix. It feeds me well, wherever I am.
