“I know what I should be doing to take care of myself, I just don’t do it!”

  • “I know I should eat more greens”
  • “I should drink more water”
  • “I should get more sleep”
  • “Less sugar would really help me, I know!”
  • “Ugh, I know dairy makes me feel bloated, but I can’t stay away”

Women KNOW! We are smart and capable, but still self-care eludes us. So what’s the problem.

It boils down to these 5 things:

Too much info:

There is so much info coming our way, the latest diet, the coolest new superfood, the most hip workout. It’s tons of bright shiny lights that distract us from the true source of wisdom — ourselves and our wise body.

Self-criticism:

The onslaught of info I mentioned above, has a nasty way of making us feel overwhelmed and then feeling like a failure that we can’t do it all. We start talking trash at ourselves and then feel bad about ourselves. When we feel bad about ourselves it’s really hard to treat ourselves well.

Not enough real support:

The next quick fix 3 day detox is not support, it’s another unrealistic expectation and a band-aid to the deeper issue. The deeper issue is YOU listening to your body and deeply respecting it’s needs.

So what’s a gal to do if you want to take care of yourself but you are feeling bad about yourself, you’re feeling done with the diet “fix-me” route and you are feeling at a loss about how to feel good in your own body.

  • First, start with compassion.
  • Second, skip the temptation to go on yet another diet.
  • Third, ask for real support. Connect with me or someone else that can truly guide you through the process of getting to know what your unique body needs to feel good.

I know you’re busy, but honestly, once we straighten out the top three issues, the “time” issue starts to fade away. Trust me, I’ve seen it happen hundreds of time. Don’t get caught into the trap that it’s only time that is keeping you from caring for yourself!
