P1030304I’ve got shelves and shelves of recipe books, and I go through phases of poring through them, and then ignoring them completely.

I’m more of what I call a “casual cook” vs. a recipe-following, gourmet cook. I tend to buy whatever I find at my farmer’s market, and then figure out what to do with it.

But every so often I need some inspiration! I get bored with what I’m making, and I need an infusion of healthy meal ideas.

So today, I want to share with you 3 BEAUTIFUL recipe books that have given me healthy inspiration. I hope they’ll inspire you to make delicious, healthy food too! Also, none of these recipe books are fussy – they don’t have super complicated recipes. They focus on real, fresh, whole food.

#1:  At Home in the Whole Food Kitchen: Celebrating the Art of Eating Well

I can’t say enough good things about this book. I pre-ordered it, and couldn’t wait for it to show up on my doorstep. I’m such a HUGE Amy Chaplin fan – I’ve been following her cooking and career since she was a chef at Angelica’s Kitchen (a fab macrobiotic restaurant in NYC) – many moons ago.

Her cookbook “At Home in the Whole Food Kitchen” is more than a cookbook, it’s a gorgeous guide book of how to eat well.

#2 The Forest Feast

Oh my goodness – I want to LIVE in each one of Erin Gleeson’s pictures. The way she reminds us that our food is nature and that nature nurtures, is exquisite! I love the simplicity of her recipes. Her recipes include dairy, which I don’t eat, but it’s pretty easy to find substitutions if dairy is not part of your diet.

#3 Oh She Glows

Every week I ogle the recipes that Angela Liddon posts on her blog. So, I’m delighted she’s finally put them into a beautiful cookbook! What I like about Angela, is that she’s a real home-cook. These are recipes that work in everyday life.

I hope these books help you bring many beautiful, healthy meals to your table!
