Thanks Nina for your inspiration.
Hi Nina,
Just made your green smoothie +avocado and coconut water for the liquid. Sooo yummy, my five year old liked it to. It’s not quite the same drinking it in the middle of a New England Blizzard as under the sunny skies of Florida but I think I am going to add it to my daily routine just the same . Thanks for all your great ideas and inspiration!
Hi Mege,
Thanks for being in touch! I love my green smoothies with coconut water too. The coconut water gives it a wonderful depth. I made mine this morning back in New England as the snow was falling. It still made me feel sunny inside! Also, keep posted because soon I have a wonderful “kid” green smoothie coming up!
Thanks for this lovely recipe, Nina.
I have a smoothie every morning. My favorite recipe includes not only some greens but berries, raw cocoa power and carob powder as well. I add frozen blueberries after blending, as it is thick and eaten with a spoon. Yum!
Mmmm, what wonderful add-ins, it makes it an antioxidant ambrosia!
I am drinking this delicious smoothie as I type. I started this week and I have had it everyday. I absolutely adore this smoothie, it’s so refreshing and truly a treat I look forward to every morning. I sometimes will add my protein powder for a meal.
I shared this with my 82 yr old mom and now I make extra and deliver a glass to her every morning also.
Fabulous, refreshing and so energizing. I feel great.
Thanks Nina!!! 🙂
I am so glad you are in the green smoothie groove! It’s such a good feeling isn’t it?
Love the green smoothie. What do you think about drinking green drinks in the winter? I love these when it’s warm outside but find New England cold tough to sustain Raw foods lifestyle here.
Hi Jeanine,
Thanks for your great question! So many people are wondering that. I deeply believe in bio-individuality. Each person’s nutritional needs are different. Our unique background, chemistry, stage of life etc, call for a specific diet and lifestyle to help us feel really great. For me, green smoothies are an everyday thing, they really work. A high percentage of raw food works for me too, even in the winter. But, as I watch the snow falling outside right now, I can’t help but think of making a lovely soup and some whole grain gluten free muffins. So, it’s a balance. It’s all about attuned eating, listening to what our body needs and nourishing it deeply. Thanks for stopping in and leaving a comment.
Made smoothie today for my family after dinner snd everyone loved it! It was the first sunny and warm day we have had all spring! this drink tasted like liquid sunshine! thanks for the great idea and inspiration.
