For the past 4 days, I’ve been in beautiful Boulder, Colorado, at The Future of Healing Conference put on by the Institute for the Psychology of Eating.

This conference also marks my  graduation from the Institute’s professional training program.

I have totally loved diving deeply, clinically and academically into the real issues that keep us from feeling really good in our body.

In fact, I’ve been studying the psychology of eating since I was 14, and went on my first diet. Of course it wasn’t the kind of formal training I’ve just been participating in, but it was the hard-knocks kind.

You see, I started reaching for food to stuff my feelings down from a very young age. Eating was my go-to for all things difficult in my life and weight gain and hating my body came along for the ride.

I felt like my body was something I had to shape and control. But the wacky thing was that the more I tried to will-power my way into having the “perfect” body, the more I felt disconnected from my body. I felt like I was at war with myself!

Finally, enough was enough, and I went on a personal journey of reclaiming my body.  I wanted to feel at home in my own skin.

Today, I have a video for you of the 4 step process that I took to create a positive relationship with my body.

I made this video as a part of my Psychology of Eating training. I’d love to know if it resonates with you. Please leave me a comment.
