ARE YOU AFRAID OF-3Just to be clear from the get-go. I HAVE failed…at about 5200 diets in my life. They were what I called my “Monday diet.”

Here’s how it worked…

Every Sunday night I would say to myself:

“OK, on Monday, I’ll start again. I won’t eat all the sugary crap. I won’t eat past when I’m full, I’ll be ‘good’.”

HA! Those diets started every Monday morning for almost two decades and ended with me feeling like a failure by Thursday night.

All those failures built up, and completely eroded my relationship with my body.

I saw my body as a failure and I believed that any attempt to “eat right” was going to end up in food-failure.

I had no body-confidence, no trust in my body’s wisdom, and no hope for ever feeling different.

I was always afraid I would fail with food – again! And yet, I was SO unhappy about my body, and so deeply wanted to change, that I kept trying to diet and get it ‘right’.

OUCH! I know from personal experience that this is a REALLY painful cycle. And if you’re in it, I want to help you out.

There’s a clear first way out off of this painful path, and here’s what it is (and what I did)….

FIRST STEP:

REALIZE that the problem is NOT about willpower or stick-to-it’evness.

The problem is NOT that you are a failure, or that there’s something wrong with you. The real problem is that you are trying to shift painful food patterns ALL BY YOURSELF.

Think about it this way. If you and your mate/partner/husband/wife were having a really hard time communicating and finding ways to be nice to each other – judging each other and seeing the relationship as a failure – would certainly not help the relationship improve. What will help is getting support, getting some counseling and learning new, productive strategies.

This is exactly the same thing you have to do with your relationship with food.

Being in the struggle of  “I wish I hadn’t eaten that” or “I can’t believe I ate all of that” – all by yourself, and attempting to pull yourself up from the bootstraps – is not going to work.

It’s time for more support!

Just like some people are a bit taller – and get tickets on airplanes with “even-more-space”  – you are allowed to ask for “even-more-support!”  If you are experiencing a painful relationship with your food and body, it’s time for some extra support for you!

If this is you, I want you to stand up loud-and-proud, and own the fact that you do better with some hand-holding, some individual guidance. There’s absolutely NO shame in needing and wanting a guide/counselor/coach to help you get out of your own way, and into the new strategies that actually work for YOU!

I know I’ve needed this extra support and had tons of guidance to get me to be living in a body that I care for, nourish and love.  That’s why in almost all of my programs, I offer a “more support” option. Most of us can’t just take what we “know we should do” and turn it into action.

Now the SECOND step in getting out of the pain of food-failure is finding a path – a relationship with food that actually works for YOU specifically – and that is NOT a one-size-fits-all, current “in” diet. This takes some experimentation and time to work out. Your relationship with food is unique because your body is unique, and what works for your mother/sister/partner, will not necessarily work for you.

My heartfelt invitation to you is to step into a relationship with your food and body that is based on nourishment, respect and love, versus failure, deprivation and judgement!

If you’re ready to to delve into this process of learning what foods make you feel best. I want to invite you into my 7 Day Nourished Woman Detox. It’s the only program I offer – that is solely focused on food, and how it makes you feel – and I offer it just once a year!  Plus, if you’re like me, and do best with some extra support, please join me for the Detox Deluxe. That’s where you and I can talk individually, and really get you humming along in your relationship with food!
