photoUsually I offer you inspiration and advice about healthy food and the mindset that you want to cultivate to feel at home in your body.

Today, I want to tell you to go to the movies!

Yup, there are some great movies that can help you get a different perspective about food and how we nourish ourselves.

Last night I want to see FED UP with my family.

It was so powerful!images-1

One of the stunning facts they illustrated was how sugar is as addictive as cocaine, if not more so! Sugar stimulates the brain in the same way that cocaine does!

And you wondered why it was so hard to resist the candy bowl!

For me, being that I’m in the health & wellness field, it wasn’t headline news. In fact, most of the experts that were featured have been teachers of mine. But the way FED UP weaves together real life stories and the facts makes it a deeply compelling movie – no matter how much or how little you know about nutrition.

I want to encourage you to go watch it….and bring your kids.

I think that any child over 9 or 10 could see it. Some of it they won’t understand, but it doesn’t matter at all. The basic message is loud and clear!

Go to this movie not only because it’s an important message for your kids, go to this movie for yourself – to support YOU in stepping into the healthy habits you know you need.

(And if the movie inspires you to make a change, but you know you need some support, I invite you to watch my free video series that will help you take powerful first steps!

There are a few other movies about food and health that are truly worth watching. Most of these additional movies are available online.

I also highly recommend:

Food Inc: Want to understand where your food really comes from? This is an important movie to see!

Fat Sick & Nearly Dead: A powerful story of two men committed to changing their lives through diet. It’s a WOW kind of story! (This movie got my husband to start juicing veggies every morning!)

Forks Over Knives: This movie has been a game changer for many people when it comes to eating meat. It’s been called: “A movie that can save your life.”

Watch these movies. Let them inspire you. Be healthy!
